De-Escalation and Personal Safety at Work

About Course

De-escalation starts with safety and awareness of your role. Learn to notice changes in behavior, use calm and respectful language, maintain boundaries, and recognize when a conversation should end. The course focuses on non-physical communication and workplace procedures rather than restraint, confrontation, or guarantees that a situation can be controlled.

Follow a beginner-friendly path through five modules and 15 lesson outlines. Each lesson identifies three focused study topics, helping you connect the ideas to practical decisions in your own setting.

Course Project: Develop a response card for three fictional frontline situations, including communication options, disengagement cues, and approved assistance routes.

Scope of This Course: This awareness course does not replace site-specific training, licensed professional advice, emergency services, or legally required certification. Practical system changes and response actions require appropriate authorization.
