About Course

Brisa Laman Kitchen Safety Onboarding Training prepares new team members to work safely, responsibly, and confidently in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen. Learners explore workplace expectations, personal readiness, food protection, equipment safety, sanitation, and incident reporting through authentic situations connected to daily operations at Brisa Laman Beach Kitchen and Bar.

The course begins with an interactive kitchen experience using videos, realistic decisions, quizzes, sequencing activities, matching challenges, and immediate feedback. Learners actively practice grease-fire response, evacuation awareness, correct handwashing, and color-coded cutting-board choices, helping them understand consequences and remember essential safety actions more effectively than passive instruction alone.

Eight focused follow-up lessons extend that experience without repeating its topics. Team members learn safe workwear, movement, receiving, storage, temperature control, allergen communication, equipment use, chemical handling, sanitation, waste management, shift checks, and reporting. This practical progression strengthens attention, confidence, recall, accountability, and safer decision-making throughout every working shift.

Clear, interactive and not too long. The shift checks lesson is something I will actually use. Passed the final assessment on the first try.

Engaging from start to finish. I replayed the grease-fire scenario twice just to get it right. You can tell it was made for the Brisa Laman team.

Solid course. The chemical handling and sanitation lessons are very practical. I would add one more scenario about reporting an incident to the manager.

As someone new to kitchen work, this made me feel ready for my first shift. Allergen communication was explained in a way that is easy to remember.

Useful content, but the drag-and-drop sequencing activity was hard to use on a small screen. Worked fine once I switched to my tablet.

Good mix of videos, quizzes and decisions. The follow-up lessons on storage and temperature control were short and clear. A summary sheet to download would be nice.

Much better than reading a manual. The evacuation scenario felt real and I now know exactly where the extinguishers and exits are.

I liked that every choice gives feedback straight away, so you know why an answer is wrong. The handwashing sequence was done really well.

Fun and practical. The matching game for the colour-coded cutting boards stuck in my head right away. Some videos loaded slowly on my phone over mobile data.

The interactive kitchen at the start is the best part. Putting out the grease fire the wrong way and seeing what happens taught me more than any poster on the wall.
